First steps on your viola da gamba journey! Holding the instrument, holding the bow, playing your first duets, how exciting!

Level up! Now that you're feeling a bit comfortable with the instrument, we'll start looking at some new techniques. For the left hand, we'll start shifting between first and half positions, opening up new key possibilities. And for the right hand, we'll focus on improving our string crossings and adding in zig-zag bowings and dotted rhythms.

Ready to move on to the next level? in Level Three, we'll add backwards extensions to our left hand technique. And for the right hand, we'll start seeing more complex rhythms and hooked bowings. All while playing some of the most beautiful music in the repertoire - together!
